Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Senior Payroll Tax Processor to lead end-to-end resolution of payroll tax issues, including notices, amendments, and corrections. You will own complex cases, guide junior staff, and drive process improvements across the PTO team.

The role emphasizes expert knowledge of federal/state payroll tax, compliance, and experience with Form 941-X and W-2c. Flexible, remote, with overtime eligibility in some periods.

Qualifications

• 4+ years payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notice types and ability to draft penalty abatement requests and agency responses.
• Experience preparing amended Federal (941-X, W-2c) and State returns across complex jurisdictions (PA, OH, etc.).
• Strong written communication; coaching junior staff is valued.

Responsibilities

• Resolve the most complex payroll tax notices across multiple states and periods from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended returns (941-X, W-2c) end-to-end across 10+ states.
• Diagnose and rectify payroll tax errors spanning multiple periods/jurisdictions.
• Maintain high productivity resolving correction and amendment requests with accuracy.
• Coach and train senior staff and provide real-time guidance via Slack/Zoom.
