Intuit, Inc. is seeking a senior Payroll Tax Processor to lead complex state and federal notices, prepare amended returns, and drive resolution across multiple states. The role emphasizes tax defect resolution, knowledge sharing, and continuous process improvement.

You will guide junior staff, develop SOPs/KB, and collaborate with Corrections/Amendments teams. A CPP/EA distinction is valued; a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience focused on tax defect resolution for notice response, amended returns, and payroll error correction across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of State and Federal payroll tax notice types with ability to draft penalty abatement requests and agency responses.
• Hands-on experience preparing amended Federal (Form 941-X) and State payroll tax returns across multiple states including PA, OH, etc.
• Deep knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW, and payroll tax regulations.
• Experience as a lead, SME, or senior specialist with coaching/junior staff training.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex payroll tax notices across multiple states end-to-end, including intake, root-cause analysis, and closure.
• Prepare and file amended returns (941-X) and state equivalents with reconciliation to original returns.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods and jurisdictions; drive correction workflows to resolution.
• Maintain high productivity in case resolution and respond to corrections, amendments, and notices with accuracy.
• Coach and mentor Senior Payroll Tax Processors; lead structured coaching sessions quarterly.
• Author and maintain SOPs and KB articles; identify recurring errors and propose actions.
