Job summary

NVR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter to manage daily underwriting for Conventional, FHA and VA loans. The role supports customers in securing their dream homes and requires willingness to attend onsite meetings as needed while operating in a remote capacity.

Responsibilities include underwriting for compliance, loan committee presentations, and collaboration with mortgage partners to resolve scenarios and questions. Strong attention to detail and Excel proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience underwriting loans.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate and problem solve with mortgage partners.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data organization and analysis.
• Experience with Encompass preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite loans for compliance with investor and agency guidelines.
• Submit loans through an automated underwriting system for a decision.
• Approve or pend loans; present appropriate loans daily to loan committee.
• Assist branches with underwriting questions, scenarios and problems.
• Maintain 24-48 hour underwriting turnaround for new loans and resubmissions.
• Operation of office equipment and maintenance of loan filing system.
