Job summary

Baptist Health (Jacksonville) is seeking a Senior Coder for our Physician Billing Office in Jacksonville, FL. This full-time day shift role requires extensive physician coding across CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS, with emphasis on E/M, outpatient procedures, and multi-specialty coding.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of physician coding experience, CPC or equivalent certification, and be able to work remotely from approved states.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of physician coding experience across CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS.
• 3–5 years of Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding experience.
• 3–5 years of outpatient procedural coding experience.
• 1–2 years of multi-specialty coding experience.
• 1–2 years of surgical/invasive coding experience.
• Preferred: Specialty-specific coding certification.

Responsibilities

• Apply ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes across places of service, specialties, testing, procedures, and major surgeries.
• Perform evaluation and management (E/M) coding per guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Perform accurate outpatient procedural, multi-specialty, and surgical/invasive coding.
• Review documentation to determine appropriate coding and ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for coding-related questions and complex coding scenarios.
• Provide coding expertise for new procedures, techniques, and specialty-specific requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and standards to support compliant physician billing.
