The Senior Coder will apply ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes, perform E/M coding, and provide expertise across multiple specialties. Bachelor’s degree preferred, CPC or equivalent certification required, and ongoing coding guideline updates are expected.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of physician coding experience, including CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS.
• 3-5 years of Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding experience.
• 3-5 years of outpatient procedural coding experience.
• 1-2 years of multi-specialty coding experience.
• 1-2 years of surgical/invasive coding experience.
• Certification preferred: CPC or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Apply ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT-4 codes accurately across places of service, specialties, testing, procedures, and major surgeries.
• Perform E/M coding in accordance with guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Perform accurate outpatient procedural, multi-specialty, and surgical/invasive coding.
• Review documentation to determine appropriate coding and ensure compliance with regulatory guidance.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for coding-related questions and complex scenarios.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and industry standards to support accurate billing.
