Baptist Health is seeking a Physician Coder to join our Physician Billing Office team in Jacksonville, FL. This full-time role supports accurate and compliant coding for physician services across specialties and places of service.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in clinical documentation, E/M coding, CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS, and outpatient coding, with CPC or CCS-P certification preferred. Remote work available for approved states, including MS.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of Clinical Documentation experience (Required)
• 1–2 years of Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding experience (Required)
• 1–2 years of physician coding experience, including CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS — (Required)
• 1–2 years of outpatient procedural coding experience (Required)
• 1–2 years of minor outpatient and office procedure coding experience (Required)
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CCS-P (Required)

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and accurately assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT-4 procedure codes.
• Perform evaluation and management (E/M) coding across applicable places of service.
• Code minor office procedures, specialty-specific testing, outpatient procedures, and minor surgeries.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with established coding guidelines and regulations.
• Review medical records to support appropriate code assignment and accurate physician billing.
• Identify and resolve coding discrepancies or documentation issues per procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
