Qualifications

• Over 5 years of physician coding experience, CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS.
• 3-5 years of Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding experience.
• 3-5 years of outpatient procedural coding experience.
• 1-2 years of multi-specialty coding experience.
• 1-2 years of surgical/invasive coding experience.
• Specialty-specific coding certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT-4 codes across services, specialties, testing, procedures, and major surgeries.
• Perform evaluation and management (E/M) coding per guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Perform accurate outpatient procedural, multi-specialty, and surgical/invasive coding.
• Review documentation to determine appropriate coding and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for coding-related questions and complex scenarios.
• Provide coding expertise related to new procedures and specialty-specific requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and industry standards.
