Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Application Development to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale applications, APIs, and cloud solutions in a fully remote role. This hands-on leadership position blends technical direction with people management to drive architecture and implementation across teams.

You will mentor 5–7 engineers, champion Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and observability, and partner with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver modern

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years in technical leadership / engineering management.
• Hands-on architecture and solution design experience.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot background.
• Extensive REST API, microservices, and enterprise integration experience.
• Strong AWS cloud experience.
• Experience with event-driven and distributed architectures.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Ability to lead complex technical programs and distributed teams.
• Strong Agile delivery and modern software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise applications and modernization initiatives.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across Java, APIs, microservices, AWS, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Develop high-level and low-level solution designs and ensure successful implementation.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers (approx. 5-7).
• Drive projects from design through production delivery.
• Partner with product, architecture, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Lead cloud applications using modern AWS patterns.
• Promote microservices, event-driven architectures, and API-first design.
• Oversee API/integration design, development, security, and governance.
• Support AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
• Champion Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and observability practices.
