Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Application Development to lead the architecture and delivery of enterprise-scale applications, APIs, and cloud solutions for a large organization. This hands-on leadership role blends technical direction with people management and strategic delivery.

You will mentor a team of 5–7 engineers, guide design through production, and partner with product, architecture, engineering, and security stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering/application development experience.
• 5+ years of technical leadership and/or engineering management experience.
• Strong hands-on architecture and solution design experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise applications and modernization initiatives.
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership across Java, APIs, microservices, AWS, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Develop high-level and low-level solution designs and ensure successful technical implementation.
• Lead and mentor a team of approximately 5-7 engineering resources.
• Drive projects and larger technical initiatives from design through production delivery.
• Partner with product, architecture, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Lead development of cloud applications using modern AWS architecture patterns.
• Drive adoption of microservices, event‑driven architecture, reusable services, and API-first design.
• Oversee enterprise API and integration design, development, security, and governance.
• Support adoption of AI-assisted development tools and AI-powered applications/workflows.
• Champion Agile, DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD, quality engineering, and observability best practices.
