Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe with 7+ years of MQ and CICS expertise to lead the design, development, and optimization of Claims applications. This remote role partners with onsite and offshore teams to ensure scalable, compliant enterprise integration.

The ideal candidate will drive code reviews, manage deployments, and mentor junior staff while delivering reliable mainframe solutions in Healthcare Claims processing. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

Strong experience with mainframe technologies, including CICS and MQ.
Experience with Healthcare Claims Adjudication processes and related workflows.
Knowledge of code migration and release management processes.
Experience with package creation and code promotion across Development, Test, QA, and Production environments.
Knowledge of post-deployment validation and backout procedures.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with collaboration with stakeholders and offshore teams.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Ability to work independently while contributing within a team.
Strong ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and offshore development team.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement technical solutions for Claims applications by transforming business requirements into scalable, efficient, and compliant mainframe systems.
Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain mainframe Claims applications using CICS, and MQ.
Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, project managers, and support teams to ensure successful project execution.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to offshore team members and coordinate onsite-offshore activities.
Serve as a key point of contact for technical issue resolution.
Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.
Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with established coding standards and best practices.
Support SIT, UAT, production deployments, and post-implementation activities.
