Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to support mission-critical infrastructure modernization programs for the U.S. Coast Guard.

This fully remote role leads end-to-end planning and delivery of complex IT network projects, coordinating with USCG stakeholders, engineering teams, and vendors to ensure mission success. The ideal candidate has 12+ years in IT project management, PMP or equivalent federal certification, and experience with OOB management, VSAT substitutions, and federal

Qualifications

• PMI/DoD-style project management experience; PMP or equivalent certification.
• Experience managing large-scale federal contracts or enterprise IT deployments (DoD/DHS/USCG).
• Experience deploying Out-of-Band (OOB) management architectures for remote network resilience.
• Solid satellite communications knowledge; legacy VSAT replacements and link migrations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; briefing executive-level government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple IT infrastructure projects from initiation to closure for USCG network refreshes, OOB deployments, and VSAT transitions.
• Define scope, build WBS, maintain schedules, and manage critical paths to avoid bottlenecks.
• Identify and mitigate risks; develop contingency plans to minimize downtime during cutovers.
• Serve as primary contact for USCG leadership, vendors, and engineers; ensure SLAs and compliance.
• Manage budgets, forecast needs, and coordinate procurement for hardware and services.
• Coordinate tasks of engineers, field technicians, site readiness, and security teams across locations.
• Quality-check all deliverables and PMO artifacts; ensure proper change management and MSRs.
• Drive efficiencies via best practices aligning with federal architecture standards.
