Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex IT infrastructure modernization programs for the U.S. Coast Guard.

This fully remote role will drive multi-site hardware refreshes, OOB management implementations, and VSAT transitions, coordinating with USCG leadership, field teams, and vendors. Ideal candidates hold a PMP or equivalent federal cert, 12+ years in IT project management, and proven experience with large federal contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience in IT project management.
• PMP or equivalent federal PM certification.
• Experience managing large federal contracts or DoD/DHS/USCG deployments.
• Experience deploying OOB management architectures for remote networks.
• Knowledge of satellite communications and legacy VSAT transitions.
• Strong communication skills for executive stakeholder briefings.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and PMO tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT infrastructure projects for USCG.
• Coordinate with USCG stakeholders, engineering teams, field techs, and vendors.
• Define scope, build WBS, schedules, and manage critical paths.
• Identify and mitigate technical, logistical, and timeline risks; develop contingencies.
• Act as primary contact for leadership and vendors, ensuring SLAs and timelines.
• Manage budgets, expenditures, and procurement for network hardware and services.
• Oversee deliverables, documentation, change tickets, and MSRs.
• Improve efficiencies by aligning deployments with federal standards.
