GovCIO is actively seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to lead RMF activities across multiple environments and emerging technologies. The role involves mentoring junior ISSO staff, managing artifacts, and ensuring compliance with NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5, CNSSI 1253, and DoD requirements.

The position is based in Washington, DC and offers 100% remote work. Candidates should have DoD IAM Level II/III, Security+ CE, and a Public Trust clearance, with a strong background in A&A

Formación

• Bachelor's with 12+ years information system security experience.
• 8–10+ years in an ISSO or cybersecurity compliance role with system responsibility.
• Experience RMF assessments across multiple network environments.
• Experience managing concurrent A&A assessments.
• Experience developing RMF artifact packages: SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms, BOE.
• Experience with microservices-based architectures and security assessments.
• Proficiency with GRC platforms for A&A documentation and continuous monitoring (JCAM/CSAM, Xacta, or equivalent).
• Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
• DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140 IAM Level II or III (CISSP, CISM, CASP+ or equivalent).
• Clearance Required: Public Trust clearance.

Responsabilidades

• Support and execute all phases of the RMF lifecycle across multiple systems and environments.
• Develop and maintain RMF documentation: SSPs, SARs, SAPs, POA&Ms, Contingency Plans, and BOE.
• Conduct multiple RMF assessments concurrently, maintaining compliance in JCAM.
• Assess and authorize emerging tech systems, adapting control baselines as needed.
• Manage evidence collection, traceability, and BOE packages for audits and reviews.
• Establish impact levels and conduct PIAs/PTAs.
• Review vulnerability results and drive POA&M remediation to closure.
• Provide security reporting, dashboards, and metrics to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5, CNSSI 1253, and client policies.
• Manage assessment workflow using JIRA; maintain status visibility across pipelines.
• Mentor ISSO staff and develop SOPs to improve efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to convey security requirements.
