Qualifications

• Acute care inpatient coding experience required.
• AHIMA or AAPC credentialing maintained annually.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG concepts.

Responsibilities

• Identify appropriate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient services and relate to DRG with CC/MCC.
• Abstract data elements during chart reviews as needed.
• Adhere to AHIMA/AAPC ethics and official guidelines.
• Maintain performance in coding quality and productivity as defined by Optum360.
• Provide documentation feedback to providers and query physicians when appropriate.
• Stay current with coding knowledge via QM/Director updates and training.
• Participate in coding department meetings and continuing education.
• Maintain records of coded and missing charts.
