You will assign ICD-10 CM/PCS and DRG codes for facility services, review charts, and ensure coding quality and compliance with AHIMA/AAPC guidelines. Position offers telecommuting from anywhere in the United States, with benefits and ongoing education.

The role requires AHIMA/AAPC certification, 3+ years inpatient DRG coding, and strong Excel/EMR skills. Weekend/overtime duties may be required to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Professional coder certification (AHIMA and/or AAPC) and annual renewal.
• 3+ years inpatient DRG coding in acute care setting.
• 3+ years ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG coding with encoder.
• Proficiency with Windows PC, Excel, and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify assignment of ICD-10 CM/PCS, DRG, and abstraction per guidelines.
• Expert knowledge in Inpatient DRG Coding.
• Abstract additional data elements during chart review when coding.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity per standards.
• Query physicians when appropriate; participate in team meetings.
