Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient DRG coding experience in an acute care facility setting.
• 3+ years of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG coding using an encoder.
• AHIMA/AAPC credentialing to be maintained annually

Responsibilities

• Identify assignment of ICD-10 CM, ICD-10-PCS, DRG, and abstraction for facility services.
• Adhere to official coding guidelines and client guidelines.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity as established by Optum
• Query physicians when appropriate
• Participate in coding department meetings and educational events
