Job summary

FNTS is seeking a Sr. IBM iSeries Engineer to maintain IBM i environments, plan migrations, and support DR and OS upgrade activities. You will work within a managed services team, focusing on BRMS, MIMIX/iTera, and related IBM i technologies.

The role is remote (work from home) and open across the US; sponsorship is not available. Expect collaboration with customers and cross-team engineers to ensure system operability and performance.

Qualifications

• IBM iSeries System Administration with 10+ years experience.
• Knowledge of i/OS from V5R4 to V7R3 and POWER hardware.
• LPARs configuration via HMC is required.
• Storage in JBOD/RAID/SAN and performance differences.
• BRMS backup solutions for recovery/migration.
• Replication software like MIMIX/iTera/PowerHA knowledge.
• OS upgrades and PTF deployment via Image Catalog.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and requests with in-depth analysis to meet SLAs.
• Review past issues to prevent recurrence as part of CI culture.
• Perform reporting as required by the customer.
• DR testing/planning and OS upgrade activities.
• Maintain IBM i OS and LPPs configurations.
• Write and maintain system documentation.
• Assist customers with migration to FNTS or remote management.
• Contribute to roadmap by adopting new hardware/OS capabilities.
