Job summary

FNTS is seeking a Sr. IBM iSeries Engineer to maintain and optimize customer IBM i environments, plan migrations, and support DR and OS upgrade activities. You will work within a managed services team, addressing incidents and performing proactive improvements.

The role is remote, open to candidates anywhere in the United States, and sponsorship is not available. Strong communication and independence are essential to succeed in this position.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IBM iSeries system administration experience.
• Knowledge of i/OS from V5R4 to V7R3 and POWER systems hardware.
• Experience configuring LPARs using HMC and managing JBOD/SAN storage.
• Familiar with OS upgrades, backups, and DR planning.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and requests with in-depth analysis to meet SLAs.
• Support migration of customer systems to FNTS or remote management setup.
• Install and maintain IBM i OS and LPPs; manage backups and recovery.
• Document system configurations and participate in infrastructure projects as IBM i SME.
