Job summary

FNTS is seeking a Sr. IBM iSeries Engineer to maintain customer IBM i environments and solve technical problems efficiently. You will plan migrations via tape save/restore or software replication, expand customer environments, and ensure proper backups.

This remote role supports FNTS customers across the US, with opportunities to work on OS upgrades and DR planning, while leveraging Halcyon, absMessage, and Robot tools.

Qualifications

• IBM iSeries Administration with 10+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of i/OS from V5R4 to V7R3 and differentiators.
• Experience with POWER systems hardware and LPARs.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP in IPv4 environments (IPv6 desired).
• Experience with BRMS backup solutions and software replication.
• Familiarity with tape libraries and OS upgrades/patching.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and requests promptly with in-depth analysis and solutions.
• Review issues to prevent recurrence as part of Continuous Improvement.
• Perform reporting as required by the customer.
• Participate in DR testing/planning and OS upgrades.
