Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 5+ years of experience or equivalent.
• At least five (5) years of relevant experience.
• Active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) required.
• At least four (4) years of experience with IBM COBOL programming language.
• Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities.
• Experience with CICS.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in client support.
• Ability to interface with all levels of management.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Preferred: Experience with IRS processing systems; SQL, JCL, Batch processing.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of software solutions meeting business requirements; design modules, conduct unit tests, troubleshoot issues, and propose resolutions.
• Evaluate new coding techniques, tools, and modules and implement as appropriate.
• Consult on requirements elicitation and definition.
• Design software solutions per systems requirements and code accordingly.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration of modules.
• Guide and train other developers and resolve issues.
• Support testing and remediation of defects.
• Assist users with troubleshooting and analysis of production logs and data.
• Investigate new solutions and techniques to improve coding standards.
• Provide guidance to staff as needed.
• Create, update, test, and maintain IBM COBOL programs.
