Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer to support our Internal Revenue Service client. This is a remote position requiring an active Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI).

You will lead development, design modules, perform unit testing, code reviews, and mentor other developers while ensuring compliant coding standards for the IRS project. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience are required, with COBOL, DB2, and CICS proficiency.

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years relevant software development experience.
• Active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) required.
• Experience with IBM COBOL.
• Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities.
• Experience with CICS.
• Strong communication and client support experience.
• Ability to interface with all levels of management.
• Excellent time management, scheduling and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well independently or in a team setting.

Responsabilidades

• Lead development of software solutions that meet business requirements, including designing modules, unit testing, troubleshooting, and proposals.
• Evaluate new coding techniques, tools, and modules and implement as appropriate.
• Consult on requirements elicitation and definition.
• Design software solutions per systems requirements.
• Code software solutions per designs and conduct code reviews.
• Assist other developers in resolving issues through guidance and training.
• Support testing and remediation of defects and production issues.
• Help users through troubleshooting and analysis of logs and data.
• Investigate new solutions and techniques to improve coding standards.
• Provide guidance and training to other employees as needed.
• Create, update, and maintain COBOL programs and related documentation.
