Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer for our IRS client. This is a remote position requiring an active Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI).

The role involves leading COBOL development, updating documentation, and mentoring other developers while ensuring compliance with tax processing requirements. You will design, code, and test COBOL solutions, update FSP/PRP documentation, and collaborate with managerial and technical staff to clarify program intent and drive quality

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Experience with IBM COBOL, DB2, CICS, and JCL.
• Ability to design, code, test, and maintain COBOL programs.
• Knowledge of IRS processing systems is a plus.

Mansioni

• Lead development of software solutions meeting business requirements, design modules, test, troubleshoot, and propose resolutions.
• Evaluate new coding techniques, tools and integrate as appropriate.
• Provide guidance and training to other developers.
• Support testing and remediation of defects; analyze production logs and data.
• Prepare documentation and keep updated Functional Specification Packages and diagrams.
