Job summary

Twilio SendGrid is hiring a Software Engineer, Email Platform (L3) for a remote, globally distributed team. You will develop, deploy, and maintain highly available, massive-scale email services, focusing on Go microservices and reliability.

You will modernize backend systems, drive performance, and contribute to Terraform-based infrastructure across AWS and Azure while mentoring others and helping shape the engineering health of the platform.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating backend services at scale.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding and testing.
• Strong production experience in Go (Golang), Java or Python.
• Cloud infrastructure experience, especially AWS and Azure.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Knowledge of distributed datastores, caching, and asynchronous event streaming.
• Foundational CS knowledge and building self-healing cloud architectures.

Responsibilities

• Architect and ship reliable, high-velocity features handling critical traffic with low latency.
• Drive rigorous code reviews and maintainable Go patterns with strong testing standards.
• Manage Terraform-based cloud configurations and ensure observability across data pipelines.
• Champion clean architecture, identify bottlenecks and technical debt.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical sprint planning.
