Job summary

Twilio is seeking a Software Engineer, Email Platform (L3) for Twilio SendGrid in a remote-first role. You will build, deploy, and manage massive-scale distributed systems that process billions of emails at peak times.

You will modernize Go-based microservices, craft reliable cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, and drive observability, testing, and code quality while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating resilient backend services at scale.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate code generation, testing, and debugging.
• Proficient in Go, Java, or Python with production experience.
• Cloud infrastructure experience on AWS and Azure.
• Proficiency with Terraform for IaC.
• Strong understanding of distributed datastores, caching, and streaming systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect and ship reliable, high-velocity features for critical traffic with low latency.
• Lead code quality through rigorous reviews and maintainable Go code patterns.
• Manage infrastructure and observability across AWS and Azure using Terraform.
• Identify bottlenecks and tech debt to improve platform health and reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical planning in sprints.
