Job summary

Twilio is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer (L3) for Email delivery in a remote-first role. You will develop, deploy, and operate highly available distributed systems powering billions of emails, modernizing backend services, and driving reliability across AWS and Azure.

You will own code quality, infrastructure, and observability, while mentoring engineers and shaping architectural health in a fast-paced environment. This role offers remote work with occasional in-person requirements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating backend services at scale.
• Strong production experience in Go (Golang), Java or Python.
• Experience deploying workloads in AWS and Azure.
• Proficiency with Terraform for IaC and observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry.

Responsibilities

• Architect and ship high-velocity features for critical traffic with low latency.
• Drive rigorous code reviews and maintainable patterns across the Go codebase with strong testing.
• Manage cloud configurations across AWS and Azure; standardize metrics, alerts, and tracing.
• Advocate for clean architecture, identify technical debt and bottlenecks, balance delivery with refactoring.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical sprint planning across distributed teams.
