Job summary

Twilio is seeking a Software Engineer (L3) for Email to architect and ship high-velocity, reliable features capable of handling massive-scale email traffic. You will refine backend services, drive code quality, and shape cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.

You will also champion observability, contribute to distributed data pipelines, and mentor junior engineers, while leveraging AI-assisted tooling to speed development. This remote-first role offers equity and a corporate bonus plan.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating resilient backend services at scale.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools to accelerate code generation, automate testing, and streamline debugging workflows.
• Strong production experience with Go, Java, or Python and writing clean, concurrent code.
• Solid cloud infrastructure experience with AWS and Azure; familiarity with Terraform for IaC.
• Experience with distributed datastores, caching, and asynchronous event streaming (e.g., Kafka).
• Foundational CS knowledge and building self-healing cloud architectures.

Responsibilities

• Architect and ship reliable, high-velocity features that handle critical traffic with low latency.
• Lead rigorous code reviews and ensure maintainable patterns and high testing standards.
• Manage cloud configurations across AWS and Azure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Ensure observability coverage with metrics, alerts, and tracing across data pipelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical sprint planning across distributed teams.
