Job summary

Twilio is seeking a Software Engineer, (L3) Email, for a hands-on role within Twilio SendGrid. You will develop, deploy, and manage highly available distributed systems handling massive-scale email workloads.

You will modernize backend services, optimize Go-based microservices, and contribute to reliability across AWS and Azure environments, with opportunities to mentor peers and lead technical initiatives.

Qualifications

• This role requires 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating backend services.
• Production experience with Go, Java, or Python.
• Cloud experience, especially AWS and Azure core services.
• Terraform proficiency for IaC and environment parity.
• Strong knowledge of distributed datastores, caching, and event streaming.
• Solid CS fundamentals and self-healing cloud architectures.

Responsibilities

• Architect and ship high-velocity features for critical traffic with low latency.
• Drive code reviews and ensure testing standards are met.
• Manage cloud infra across AWS and Azure using Terraform.
• Improve observability and tracing across data pipelines.
• Mentor engineers and lead technical sprint planning.
