Job summary

Katmai Government Services seeks a senior full‑stack software engineer to support the Decennial Budget Integration Tool (DBiT) for the U.S. Census Bureau.

You will design, build, maintain, and enhance DBiT's business logic, data-access layers, and user interfaces using Angular, React, Java, and related frameworks. You will work in an Agile Scrum team, implement RESTful services and microservices, and automate builds and deployments via Jenkins and GitHub Actions, ensuring code quality and proper

Qualifications

• Must meet eligibility for a Public Trust position and US work authorization
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s preferred
• Eight or more years of professional software development experience across frontend and backend technologies
• Demonstrated experience with Java and related frameworks and with Angular and/or React
• Experience developing RESTful services and microservices
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise and CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Knowledge of Agile / Scrum practices in a Government CI/CD environment
• Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks

Responsibilities

• Work in an Agile Scrum execution team to meet contract deliverables and milestones
• Provide IT systems analysis to develop and modify requirements
• Develop and modify software functionality and optimize the codebase
• Build frontends with Angular/React and backends with Java and related frameworks
• Ensure development adheres to ADSD standards for programming, UI, and CM
• Automate builds, tests, and deployments via Jenkins and GitHub Actions
• Maintain code and configuration files in GitHub Enterprise with traceability
• Document requirements and processes in Confluence, and use Jira for work management
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and translate priorities into actionable work
• Maintain punctual attendance and perform other duties as assigned
