Job summary

Katmai is seeking a senior frontend architect to own UI architecture and UX implementation for the DBiT program. Lead design systems, mentor developers, and ensure scalable, secure front-end solutions integrated with RESTful APIs and GraphQL.

Requires 10+ years in frontend development, expertise in React/Vue/Node.js, TypeScript, and modern ES6+. Remote-friendly, with potential on-site as needed; U.S. public sector experience a plus.

Qualifications

• U.S. work authorization is required for eligibility.
• Public Trust position eligibility as per DoC/OPM.
• 10+ years of software development across front-end technologies.
• Experience designing web systems and choosing frameworks (React, Vue, Node.js).
• Strong knowledge of modern ECMAScript and TypeScript.
• Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and SASS/SCSS; JSON data handling.

Responsibilities

• Design, scale, and maintain scalable UI architectures with reusable components.
• Work in an Agile Scrum team to meet milestones and reporting requirements.
• Serve as front-end development SME and guide architectural decisions.
• Troubleshoot advanced rendering, network, and connectivity issues.
• Optimize workflows to handle large data sets and data streams.
• Translate architectures into clear technical docs for stakeholders.
