Job summary

Placements24, on behalf of a rapidly growing fintech client, seeks a Senior Financial Systems Analyst to enhance financial systems, ensure data integrity, and support reporting. This remote-first role operates from anywhere in South Africa, collaborating across finance, IT, and accounting teams.

You will design, implement, and test system improvements, maintain documentation, and drive data migration and automation initiatives while staying current with BI tools and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial systems analysis, implementation, or support.
• Proven experience with major ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) and accounting software.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, GAAP/IFRS, and business processes.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising between technical and business teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a remote, collaborative environment.
• Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Project management skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, and implement enhancements for financial systems (ERP, GL, budgeting software).
• Collaborate with finance, accounting, and IT teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into system solutions.
• Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for financial systems.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including process flows and technical specs.
• Lead and participate in system testing, including UAT.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within financial systems and workflows.
• Generate reports and dashboards from financial systems to support analysis and decisions.
• Stay current with best practices in financial systems technology and recommend upgrades.
• Assist in data migration activities and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Train end-users on financial system functionalities and best practices.
