Job summary

Leica Biosystems, a Danaher operating company, is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to provide advanced technical expertise and field leadership for diagnostic solutions. The role supports remote work within the assigned territory and reports to the Regional Field Service Manager.

You will drive instrument performance, uptime, and continuous improvement across service teams. Responsibilities include mentoring colleagues, handling escalations, and collaborating with cross-functional groups

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree with 6+ years of field service, technical, biomedical, military, or related hands-on troubleshooting experience, or equivalent experience.
• Advanced experience diagnosing and repairing complex medical device, laboratory, scientific, electromechanical, electronic, automation, or instrumentation systems.
• Demonstrated ability to independently resolve complex technical challenges, guide less experienced associates, influence customer outcomes, and communicate effectively across customer and internal stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, repair activities, and technical escalations, applying specialized expertise to resolve complex customer and instrument challenges.
• Leverage service data, customer feedback, Gemba observations, and root cause analysis to identify recurring issues, implement countermeasures, and improve customer uptime, service quality, and overall field service effectiveness.
• Serve as a senior technical resource for Field Service Engineers, service leadership, technical support, applications, commercial, and product teams by mentoring others, sharing best practices, supporting escalations, and influencing sustainable improvements across the organization.
