Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Field Property Adjuster to independently manage moderate to high-value field property claims across Virginia territories including Manassas, Winchester, and Fredericksburg.

This remote, exempt role involves field investigations, travel on short notice, and complex investigations with strong negotiation and claim-analysis skills. You will educate claimants, set reserves, authorize payments within authority, and collaborate with internal teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with claim handling.
• State adjuster licenses, CE credits, and valid driver's license.
• Strong Xactimate proficiency, Level II certified preferred.
• Knowledge of local geography, statutes and regulatory landscape.
• Negotiation skills and independent decision-making within authority.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage field property claims, including CAT responses.
• Lead investigations, assess coverage, issue letters and statements.
• Identify subrogation opportunities and coordinate with parties.
• Maintain detailed claim records and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with legal, underwriting, vendors and agents; may appear in mediations/arbitrations.
• Mentor junior adjusters and contribute to training and best practices.
