b.well is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Data Interoperability team and drive a strategic, scalable engineering program. This role requires hands-on architectural judgment across FHIR, healthcare APIs, and data pipelines, while mentoring engineers and aligning with product and clinical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in healthcare interoperability or health IT.
• 3+ years directly managing engineering or interoperability teams.
• 5+ years with FHIR standards (FHIR R4) and implementations.
• Experience with Patient Access APIs, Bulk FHIR APIs, and national networks.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Clinical, and Data Science.

Responsibilities

• Build, scale, and lead the Data Interoperability team; manage hiring and growth.
• Own performance management, career development, and promotions.
• Drive technical strategy for Patient Access and Bulk FHIR APIs.
• Oversee real-time data pipelines integrating EMRs, HIEs/HINs, wearables, and devices.
• Ensure security, HIPAA/HITECH compliance, and scalable design.
