Job summary

WellBeam, Inc. seeks a seasoned Integration Platform Architect to own the interoperability platform and define standards for healthcare data exchange across HL7v2, FHIR, REST, and other protocols.

You will design scalable integration patterns, mentor engineers, and lead architecture reviews with health systems and post-acute providers. You will partner with Delivery and Customer Success to shape pre-sales, planning, and complex engagements, ensuring robust, reusable platform capabilities and

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, solutions architecture, or health interoperability.
• 5+ years designing and delivering enterprise healthcare integrations.
• Deep expertise with HL7v2, FHIR APIs, SMART on FHIR, REST, XML, and flat-file exchanges.
• Experience integrating with enterprise EMRs (Epic, Oracle Health Cerner, Athenahealth, Homecare Homebase).
• Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation, validation, patient identity matching, and interoperability workflows.
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems and API architectures.
• Cloud-native architecture experience (AWS preferred).
• Ability to lead technical initiatives without direct management authority.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfort working in fast-paced startup or high-growth environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture of WellBeam’s interoperability platform.
• Define architectural standards and best practices for healthcare interoperability.
• Design scalable integration patterns across HL7v2, FHIR, SMART on FHIR, REST, XML, and more.
• Conduct architecture reviews for major engineering initiatives and customer implementations.
• Lead technical discovery workshops with health systems and post-acute providers.
• Serve as WellBeam’s principal technical advisor during customer engagements.
• Produce technical solution designs, architecture diagrams, implementation strategies, and recommendations.
• Partner with Delivery during pre-sales, implementation planning, and complex customer engagements.
• Review Statements of Work from a technical architecture perspective.
• Identify implementation risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
