Job summary

New Relic is seeking an experienced technology leader to lead and grow our global engineering team and help our customers build better software by building the next generation of Application Performance Monitoring (APM) by leading our Agent teams.

You will work with distributed systems, leverage data, and drive reliability, scalability and execution. 10+ years in software engineering and 4+ years managing remote teams are preferred. Visa sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading people and teams.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience building and scaling high-performing remote teams.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with backend languages like Java and Node.js.
• Experience with data analysis and observability tools.
• Ability to manage on-call rotations and 24/7 operations.
• Strong leadership with coaching and communication.

Responsibilities

• Hands on with data analysis and technical problem solving.
• Leverage OpenTelemetry to acquire data.
• Design and build APM agents for customer environments and provide engineers deep insight into application performance.
• Build processes that ensure reliability, scalability, team growth and execution.
• Collaborate across teams to plan and execute in a distributed, large-scale environment.
