Job summary

New Relic is seeking a seasoned technology leader to grow and mentor our global engineering team. You will help build the next generation of Application Performance Monitoring (APM) agents and drive reliability, scale, and performance across distributed systems.

You will work with data-driven engineers to design, implement, and operate agent solutions in customer environments, while fostering growth, coaching, and fast execution in a remote-friendly setting.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience leading people and teams.
• 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
• Proven track record of leading and scaling strong technical teams.
• Experience handling high performing self-directed remote teams.
• Capable of diving deep and understanding the technical implications and risks of a decision.
• Experience in a backend language like Java and Node.
• Experience with Data Analysis.
• Experience managing on-call rotations and 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Hands on with data analysis and technical problem solving.
• Leverage OpenTelemetry to acquire data.
• Help design and build our APM agents that run in customer environments and provide deep insight into performance and business metrics.
• Build processes that ensure reliability, scalability, and team growth.
• Collaborate across teams to build engineering plans and execute in a distributed, large-scale environment.
