Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and mentor engineers while contributing technically on cloud-native solutions for government clients.

This role balances leadership with hands-on contributions in design, delivery, and strategic planning. You will guide architecture reviews, collaborate with product teams, and help Nava deliver secure, scalable software across remote teams in the United States.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment.
• 1+ year as a People Manager.
• Production-grade, cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, container deployment.
• Relational databases (Postgres) using JDBC and ORM like Hibernate.
• DevOps experience, Jenkins CI/CD.
• AWS cloud native services and data engineering.
• Ability to iterate on working code and troubleshoot effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering management and technical leadership across teams.
• Write, review, and enforce technical specifications and architecture.
• Plan, estimate, and prioritize work with cross-functional product teams.
• Review architectures and designs from other projects.
• Design technical roadmaps and enforce architecture standards.
• Manage on-call duties and resolve production issues.
• Contribute to client growth and bid activities.
• Engage with government stakeholders on technical initiatives.
