Job summary
ICF is seeking an Energy Markets Consultant / Senior Consultant to join our Power Markets practice. You will work with leading energy industry participants to evaluate investment opportunities, forecast market outcomes, assess risks, and develop strategies in an increasingly complex energy environment.
You will contribute to projects involving market forecasting, asset valuation, interconnection analysis, renewable energy development, and energy transition initiatives, gaining exposure to
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, OR related quantitative field.
- 2–4+ years of energy markets or related experience for Consultant level.
- 5–8+ years for Senior Consultant level, with energy market background.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using Excel and quantitative analysis tools.
- Experience with Python, R, SQL or similar languages.
Responsibilities
- Perform quantitative, economic, and technical analyses of U.S. power markets.
- Develop long-term forecasts of energy, capacity, and renewables.
- Evaluate energy investments including storage and transmission.
- Analyze market fundamentals: load growth, fuel prices, congestion, policy changes.
- Support interconnection and transmission analyses and project economics.
- Prepare client reports and market insights for diverse audiences.
