Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer, Data Center, specializing in hyper-scale data centers, to act as Data Center Electrical Engineer Lead. This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel for client meetings and on-site collaboration.

Responsibilities include designing electrical systems for data centers, developing schematics and BOMs, ensuring NEC/IEC compliance, and leading client relationships while acting as Engineer of Record on large projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of electrical design/engineering in data center infra.
• Professional Engineer license required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical systems for hyper-scale data centers.
• Develop schematics, BOMs, and installation drawings.
• Ensure NEC/IEC compliance and industry standards.
• Collaborate to develop specifications, design criteria, and budgets.
• Analyze load balancing, capacity, and power optimization.
• Monitor, test, and maintain electrical systems; perform repairs.
• Develop electrical safety procedures and staff training.
• Propose new technologies to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Act as Engineer of Record and approve work.
• Provide budget and schedule estimates for large projects.
• Lead client relationships and contribute to business development.
