Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 2+ years of building MEP electrical design experience, focused on data center facilities. You will design electrical systems, perform power calculations, and develop plans under senior engineers, applying NEC and related codes.

Remote work is available across the US, with occasional travel for key milestones. The role offers growth via mentoring and hands-on project exposure across global data center assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with 2 years of building MEP electrical design experience.
• Experience with Revit and ACC preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical power systems and engineering calculations; experience with SKM or ETAP is a plus.
• Working knowledge of NEC and familiarity with IBC and IECC.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and develop technical skills under the guidance of senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of electrical systems for mission critical and data center facilities, including medium- and low-voltage power distribution, emergency power, lighting, grounding, and life safety systems.
• Perform electrical calculations and assist with equipment sizing, load calculations, and other engineering analyses.
• Develop electrical plans, one-line diagrams, schedules, details, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Apply applicable codes and standards, including the NEC, to electrical design and documentation.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, and other disciplines.
• Support senior engineers in resolving technical and construction-related issues.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Develop knowledge of data center electrical systems, including reliability, redundancy, and maintainability requirements.
• Continue developing technical and professional skills through project experience, mentoring, and training.
