Job summary

AECOM seeks an Electrical Engineer Lead specializing in hyper-scale data centers. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems to ensure reliability, efficiency, and safety for large-scale data center infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have a strong electrical engineering background with data center experience and PE licensure. The position offers a flexible remote work schedule across the US with occasional travel for key milestones and onsite collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on data center infrastructure, 10+ years of experience or equivalent
• PE license is required
• Experience with design, implementation and maintenance of electrical systems for data centers
• Familiarity with NEC (NFPA70) and IEC standards desirable
• Experience leading mid‑level engineers and managing client relationships

Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical systems for hyper-scale data centers including power distribution and backup systems
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, BOMs, and installation drawings
• Ensure compliance with NEC and IEC standards and project budgets
• Lead technical client relationships and mentor mid-level engineers
• Provide engineering budget and schedule estimates for large projects
• Perform system analysis for load balancing, capacity planning and efficiency improvements
• Oversee safety procedures and training for technicians
• Act as Engineer of Record and approve work when required
