Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer, Data Center specializing in hyper-scale data centers to act as Data Center Electrical Engineer Lead. This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel for client meetings or on-site collaboration.

You will design electrical systems, develop schematics, and lead engineering activities for large, complex projects in a global firm environment. A PE or P.Eng license is required, with 8+ years in data center electrical design and NEC knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and eight+ years in electrical design/engineering for data centers.
• Professional Engineer License (PE) or P.Eng is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical systems for hyper-scale data centers, including power distribution, backup, and emergency systems.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, BOMs, and installation drawings.
• Ensure compliance with NEC and IEC standards.
• Collaborate to develop specifications, design criteria, and budgets.
• Analyze systems for load balancing, capacity, and efficiency improvements.
• Monitor, test, and repair electrical systems; perform preventative maintenance.
• Develop electrical safety procedures and training for technicians.
• Stay updated on advances in data center tech and recommend improvements.
• Act as Engineer of Record, approving and signing off on work.
• Provide budget and scheduling estimates for large projects.
• Lead client relationships and participate in business development.
