Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer, Data Center specializing in hyper-scale facilities to lead electrical design and engineering efforts. The role is primarily remote with occasional travel for client meetings and on-site collaboration.

Responsibilities include designing electrical systems, maintaining schematics and BOMs, and ensuring NEC/IEC compliance. The candidate should have a PE license and 8+ years of data center experience, with a strong focus on reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of experience in electrical design for data centers.
• Professional Engineer license (P.E. or P. Eng) required.
• Strong knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70) preferred for design and approval workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical systems for hyper-scale data centers, including medium and low-voltage power distribution and backup systems.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, BOMs, and installation drawings.
• Ensure compliance with NEC and IEC standards and local codes.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop specifications, design criteria, and project budgets.
• Analyze loads, capacity planning, and power consumption optimization.
