Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Director, Tax Accounting (Remote- Eligible) to lead global tax provisioning, reporting, and forecasting. This executive role partners with the Chief Tax Officer and finance leadership to optimize effective tax rate, capital planning, and strategic tax considerations in M&A and investments.

You will guide 4 tax professionals, ensure SOX compliance, and oversee tax disclosures in SEC filings while steering tax technology and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA designation actively licensed or previously achieved.
• 10+ years of progressive corporate tax experience.
• 5+ years in people-management leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead global tax provision (ASC 740) for quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Oversee tax disclosures in SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) ensuring accuracy.
• Manage ETR and deferred tax assets/liabilities.
• Forecast tax outcomes to inform capital planning and cash flow.
• Direct tax workstreams for CCAR and capital planning processes.
• Mentor and develop a tax team of 4 professionals.
