Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Director of Tax Accounting to lead global tax provisioning, reporting, and forecasting. This remote-eligible role partners with the Chief Tax Officer and senior finance leadership to optimize ETR, tax credits, and capital planning.

You will manage a team of 4 tax professionals, drive CCAR processes, and oversee tax accounting for M&A activities while ensuring SOX compliance and accurate SEC disclosures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance or related discipline required.
• Active CPA designation or eligible designation preferred.
• 10+ years corporate tax experience in a public company or firm.
• 5+ years in people-management leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead global tax provision and ASC 740 reporting for quarterly and annual statements.
• Oversee SEC disclosures (10-K, 10-Q) and ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Manage ETR, deferred tax assets/liabilities, and tax forecasting.
• Direct tax capital planning, CCAR-related processes and stress testing.
• Mentor and develop a team of 4 tax professionals; lead M&A tax advisory.
• Ensure SOX controls over income taxes and maintain internal controls.
