Capital One is seeking a Senior Director, Tax Accounting to lead global tax provisioning, reporting, and forecasting for Capital One and its acquisitions. You will advise executive leadership on tax strategy, effective tax rate, and capital planning.

The role manages a team of four tax professionals, ensures ASC 740 compliance and SOX controls, and collaborates on tax implications of strategic transactions. Remote-eligibility is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or quantitative discipline; CPA designation.
• At least 10 years of progressive corporate tax experience in a public corporation or accounting firm.
• At least 5 years in a dedicated people-management capacity.

Responsabilités

• Lead the global tax provision (ASC 740) for quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Oversee tax disclosures in SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) with accuracy and transparency.
• Manage the ETR and deferred tax assets/liabilities for the group.
• Lead tax forecasting for cash flow and balance sheet planning.
• Direct tax workstreams for CCAR, capital planning, stress testing.
• Mentor and develop a team of 4 tax professionals.
• Partner with Tax Planning on M&A tax accounting impacts.
• Maintain SOX-aligned internal controls over income taxes.
