Capital One is seeking a Senior Director, Tax Accounting to lead global tax provisioning, financial reporting, and forecasting for the corporation and its acquisitions. You will advise the CFO and senior finance leadership on effective tax rate, capital planning, and tax implications of M&A.

You will manage 4 tax professionals, ensure SOX-compliant controls over income taxes, and coordinate ASC 740 accounting for quarterly and annual statements.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other quantitative discipline, or military experience.
• CPA designation currently active or previously achieved and currently inactive.
• At least 10 years of progressive corporate tax experience within a public corporation or an accounting firm.
• At least 5 years in a dedicated people-management capacity leading teams.

Aufgaben

• Lead the global tax provision (ASC 740) for quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Oversee tax disclosures in SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) with accuracy and transparency.
• Manage the consolidated effective tax rate and global deferred tax assets/liabilities.
• Lead tax forecasting processes for data-driven insights into ETR and credit capacity.
• Direct tax workstreams for CCAR and capital adequacy assessments.
• Mentor and develop a team of 4 tax professionals and drive succession planning.
• Partner with Tax Planning on M&A tax accounting impacts and divestitures.
• Maintain internal controls over income taxes compliant with SOX.
