Job summary

Lyric is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for its Data Platform team to design and deploy scalable data pipelines on Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt. You will own the canonical data model and enforce data quality across a multi-tenant environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, CS or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering and building production data pipelines.
• Strong Snowflake experience (streams/tasks, sizing, performance, RBAC, clustering, micro-partitions).
• Production experience with dbt and Airflow and how to structure models/DAGs for maintainability.
• Strong Python programming and SQL proficiency.
• Solid data modeling skills for multi-consumer schemas and shared models.
• Experience building testing and data quality validation into pipelines.
• Disciplined engineering practices: version control, code review, testing, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own data pipelines in our unified framework using Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake.
• Implement canonical data model in production within established architecture.
• Build automated data quality checks and validation into pipelines.
• Instrument pipelines for observability: freshness, lineage, and failure alerts.
• Enable self-service data delivery to consuming teams with governed outputs.
• Collaborate with invoicing, analytics, and reporting teams to translate needs into data.
• Migrate and consolidate workloads onto unified framework without disrupting consumers.
• Participate in on-call rotation for pipeline and data quality incidents and post-incident reviews.
• Maintain high engineering standards: VCS, testing, code review, CI/CD, documentation.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical level of the team.
