Sedgwick, a leading risk and claims solutions provider, seeks a Sr. Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will work with Snowflake, dbt, and Azure tools to enable AI-ready data models and semantic layers.

You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to advance data engineering practices, governance, and performance. The role supports remote work with strong collaboration requirements.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid on-premises to cloud environments using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience with semantic layers and structuring data for AI/LLM or natural-language search capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement from on-premises and cloud sources.
• Serves as a core developer for the Snowflake data platform, supporting performance, modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs and maintains semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides management and mentorship to data engineers and guides analysts in engineering practices.
• Drives adoption of dbt and evaluates Azure/AWS tools to optimize data flow.
