Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across on-prem and cloud environments. You will work with Snowflake, dbt, and cloud tools to deliver reliable data products and support AI-driven analytics.

The role combines hands-on engineering with mentoring responsibilities, guiding a data engineer and collaborating with analysts and cross-functional teams. A strong background in SQL, Python, and data modeling is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade pipelines.
• Advanced Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing experience.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem to cloud) using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience building or maintaining semantic layers for AI/Lang Model or NLP search capabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines from on-premises and cloud sources.
• Serves as a core developer for the Snowflake data platform and supports performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs and maintains semantic layers and metadata models for Self-Service 2.0 NLP UIs.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD best practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides direct management and mentorship to one data engineer, with potential for team growth, and guides analysts.
